In the summertime

Marli is almost 9 mos old! Unbelievable. She is crawling and standing all the time...she wants to walk so bad, but we're still a little wobbly. Here she is going after mommy's camera...

Darcy came to Oklahoma the first week of June...We were so glad to see her!!

To beat the summer heat, we headed to the lake for a little swim.

Lately...

Miss Marli is over one-half-a-year old! Wow! We haven't had our 6 mos check up yet so I'm not sure how big our girl has gotten. She isn't crawlin but has devised her own system of turning, rolling, and reaching that seems to keep her satisfied.

She also sits up like a pro now!

We had an awesome time with Darc and Brandon in Monterey, CA earlier this month...

Getting our toes wet in some super COLD water!

Playing in the sand with Darcy. She loved the sand but couldn't figure out how to get it to her mouth since it would all fall out of her fist by the time she got it up to her mouth.

Just the girls...Marli and my very best friend...couldn't make me any happier :)

I can't believe my baby girl is 4 months old already! She is changing so fast. It seems like almost overnight she went from content and just kind of here to giggly, full of personality, and capable of so much. She is reaching, grabbing, kicking, rolling, laughing, smiling, discovering...it's just amazing. I haven't had batteries in my camera since Christmas so these pics are courtesy of Lollie from the past month.

Testing...1...2...3...

This is my first attempt to add video to Marli's blog...I haven't yet figured out how to record sound AND video at the same time with our web cam...hopefully my skills will improve!

Goodbye 2008...

What a wonderful year this has been. Looking back it feels like a blur but it was a year full of newness, freshness, excitement, and change. 2007 seemed like such a struggle...Aaron and I both working hard to finish up school, lots of job transitions that didn't measure up to what we thought they would be, etc., etc. 2008 began with a bang! We found out we were pregnant which was the best start I could imagine! Aaron got a wonderful job and we made a big move. This year has made me appreciate the wonderful gifts of family and friends that I have in my life. Now with the year coming to an end, I look forward with anticipation to all the new year has to bring.
I look forward to watching my sweet, baby girl grow and cherishing her as the gift she is to us.
I look forward to spending another year with my wonderful hubby and friend.
I look forward to what the Lord has in store for each one of us.
I pray that your 2008 was filled with as much joy and love as mine was and that next year is even better!

There's No Place Like Home for the Holidays

Yes. That is true...but there is also no place like home AFTER the holidays! We had a wonderful Christmas spent with family and friends but it is really nice to be back home again. Traveling is exhausting sometimes, even though Marli does so well. Here's a few pictures to enjoy of Marli's first Christmas...
Notice her cute little Christmas jammies...I had almost the identical outfit, wish I had a picture!
Marli's first baby doll...which she obviously loves!
She likes to hold her (although it might be more accurately described as attempting to get the dolls head in her mouth!)
